Second-seeded Christian Brothers Academy defeated top-seeded St. Augustine Prep 3-0 to win the South Jersey Non-Public A championship Thursday at Holmdel High School.
Scott Thompson scored on a 42-yard shot early in the first half to propel CBA (17-3-2) to victory.
CBA, No. 3 in the Press Elite 11, advances to the state final Tuesday at The College of New Jersey. The No. 2 Hermits' season ends with a 21-2 record.
CBA's victory avenged a 1-0 loss to St. Augustine in last year's South Jersey final.
