Boys soccer roundup: Absegami clinches 9th straight division title

Eucario Solano scored in the first half to give Absegami High School a 1-0 boys soccer win over Atlantic City and its ninth consecutive Cape-Atlantic League American Conference Division I title Friday.

Solano scored on a penalty kick after an illegal takedown in the crease by a Vikings player.

Absegami goalie Ryan Taylor made eight saves to earn the shutout.

Jose Aranda made 19 saves for Atlantic City.

Ryan McFadden had two first-half goals and an assist to lead St. Augustine Prep to victory in the quarterfinals of the South Jersey Coaches Tournament.

Justin TenBrook and Dominic Pernice also scored for the Hermits, No. 1 in The Press' Elite 11.

Connor Hurff assisted both of McFadden's first-half goals.

St. Augustine goalie John Richards made six saves. The Hermits will play Sunday in the semifinals.
