Field hockey roundup: Buena Regional edges Vineland in overtime

Karlie Gruccio knocked in a rebound four minutes into overtime to lift Buena Regional High School to a 2-1 overtime win over host Vineland in a Cape-Atlantic League field hockey game Friday.

Gruccio, who now has 20 goals this season, also scored in the first half.

Vineland's Zulai Carrion scored off an Anna DiPietro assist to tie the game with four minutes left in regulation and send it to overtime.

Juliana Higginbotham led the host Mustangs with two goals.

Jenn Eisenberg, Kassie Barrett, Jess Byrnes and Rachael Swisher each added one goal for Mainland.

Alyssa Little had two goals and an assist for Oakcrest, and freshman teammate Angela Hood scored in her first varsity game.
