Kean University senior tight end Alex Cade (Absegami), William Paterson senior linebacker Jared Burke (Egg Harbor Township) and Rowan senior safety Mike Barone (Hammonton) earned New Jersey Athletic Conference first team honors. Western Connecticut freshman linebacker Mike Lacaria (Bridgeton) was named honorable mention.
Penn State sophomore defensive end Jack Crawford (St. Augustine Prep) earned All-Big Ten honorable mention.
Senior quarterback Matt Flynn (Mainland Regional) earned All-Centennial Conference honorable mention for Gettysburg.
Gallaudet linebacker Tom Pangia (Hammonton) was named co-Rookie of the Year for the first ever Eastern Collegiate Football All-Conference team.
Men's Crew: The Marietta College men's varsity lightweight eight came in first at the Frostbite Regatta on the Schuylkill River with a time of 6 minutes, 31.15 seconds. Senior Mike Flanagan (Holy Spirit), sophomore Matt Newsome (Ocean City), and sophomore bow John Chester (Ocean City) contributed to the Pioneers' win.
The Freshman Novice four also came in first in 7:39.28. Coxswain Chad Rummler (Ocean City), stroke Andrew Parenti (St. Augustine) and Nico Richey (Egg Harbor Township) were on board for the Pioneers.
Freshmen Parenti, Richey and Rummler also finished third in the freshman novice eight with a time of 6:30.32. Sophomores James Smith (Holy Spirit) and Richie Fredericks (Ocean City) aided the Pioneers in a second-place finish in the varsity eight with a time of 6:12.65. In the junior varsity eight, sophomore stroke, Tim Shields (St. Augustine Prep), and senior Mike Flanagan (Holy Spirit) finished in third in 6:34.82. Shields was also a member of the junior varsity eight win at the Braxton Regatta.
Jacksonville University had a strong showing at the Head of the South, the men's lightweight four with coxswain Dan Moore (Egg Harbor Township) and Richard Kelly (Holy Spirit) finished second. The men's pair B of Tyler Humphrey and Dylan Kosten (Holy Spirit) finished third. The men's lightweight eight that included Anthony Magro (Holy Spirit), Richard Kelly (Holy Spirit), John Gerety (Mainland Regional) and Chris Barse (Vineland) finished first. The men's championship eight with Kosten and Gerety finished first.
At the Head of Hooch, Kosten and Gerety finished first with the men's championship eight.
Women's crew: Junior Nini Perone (Oakcrest) was named the University of Rhode Island's crew team captain for the spring season.
Jacksonville's Kelly Burke (Mainland Regional) and Danielle Fournier (Mainland Regional) finished first in the championship eight and the championship four at the Head of the South.
Freshman Mallory Sykes (Atlantic City), junior Dayna Hartman (Holy Spirit) and sophomore Julia Jackson (Holy Spirit) helped the Drexel women's varsity eight boat to a silver medal at the Head of the Schuykill, a gold at the Frostbites, and gold at the Braxton Memorial Regatta.
Alexa Antonioli (Ocean City) is the six-seat on the freshman eight boat that won bronze at the Head of the Schuykill, gold at the Frostbites, and gold at the Braxton Memorial Regatta.
Men's basketball: Widener University's Bobby Edmunds (Mainland Regional) had 15 points and six assists in a 75-50 win over Immaculata University. Edmunds also had four points and seven assists as Widener beat Rowan 65-60. Edmunds dished seven assists in the Oki Data Americas Tip-Off Tournament title game win against Rowan.
Tufts University Dave Beyel (Ocean City) posted 33 points and 13 rebounds in the Chuck Resler Tournament in Rochester, including 24 points in a 67-61 loss to the University of Rochester.
South Carolina State's Khalif Toombs (Atlantic City) had 10 points in a 56-53 win over Erskine and nine points in an 88-81 win against Allen.
Umar Shannon (Atlantic City) had nine points and four assists as St. Francis (Pa.) loss to Lafayette 88-77.
Women's basketball: Alissa Lamey (Mainland Regional) dished 12 assists as Rowan defeated Penn State-Harrisburg 81-60 and she scored 12 points in a loss to Ursinus. Lamey also had 12 points and nine assists in a win over York (Pa.)
Canisius College freshman Ashley Durham (Millville) was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week. Durham shoots a team-best 54.5 percent from the 3-point line and is second on the team in average points per game (8.3).
Drew University's Danielle Barber (Middle Township) won MVP honors at the Ramapo College Roadrunner Tip-Off Tournament. Her 13 points, three steals, and five assists led the Rangers over Ramapo 52-42 in the championship game. She also scored a game-high 18 points, with five rebounds and a team-high nine assists in a 70-53 win over Medgar Evers College in their season opener.
Kean University senior guard Alysha Taylor (Absegami) had four points and two rebounds as the Bombers won The Rock Cougar College Classic Championship over Ithaca 65-52.
Jane O'Donnell (Wildwood Catholic) was named co-captain to the Washington College women's team.
Women's swimming and diving: Arkansas' Jamie Marks (Ocean City) finished second in the 400 individual medley with a NCAA "B" cut time of 4:16.65 at the Purdue Invite.
Laura Bassford (Absegami) won the 400 IM (4:55.80) for Franklin and Marshall as they defeated Washington College 108-97.
Stacey Rahter (Mainland Regional) and Teresa Stearns (Holy Spirit) helped Rowan to a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley (1:54.93) and the 400-yard freestyle (3:51.67) relays over Ramapo. Rahter also won the 100-yard freestyle (56.83).
Alexandra Coletta (Ocean City) finished first (215.17) in the 1-meter dive for Loyola University (Maryland) at the Thomas Murphy Invitational Meet to become the first Loyola woman to qualify for the East College Athletic Conference championships in several years. Her point total is fourth-best in Loyola history.
Men's swimming and diving: Steve Tucker (Sacred Heart) and Michael Brooks (Holy Spirit) helped Rowan to a second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay (1:40.13) and the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:20). Brooks placed second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:50.64) and Tucker was second in the 100-yard butterfly (55:68).
Brian Birkbeck (Holy Spirit) and Kevin Thomas (Ocean City) won the 200-free relays for William Paterson as they defeated Arcadia 109-59.
Women's soccer: Rowan midfielder Marina Mangano (Middle Township) had an assist as the Profs fell to Ithaca 2-1 in overtime of the NCAA Division III Tournament Sectionals.
Nicolette Hensel (Buena Regional) started all 20 games at outside back for Misericordia and scored the lone goal in a 2-1 loss to Manhattanville.
Men's soccer: Saint Joseph's University's Nico Galati (St. Augustine Prep) started in 14 of 17 games for the Hawks and posted one assist for the season.
Wrestling: College of New Jersey freshman Brian Broderick (Southern Regional) won by a technical fall at 174-pounds as the Lions defeated New York University and went 3-0 at the Oneonta State Invitational.
Sailing: Ian Donahue (St. Augustine Prep) is a member of the Boston College coed sailing team, which is ranked No. 1 in the final National Ranking Poll of the fall season.
Cross country: Jena Peacock (Our Lady of Mercy Academy) earned All-Regional honors from the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for finishing in the top 35 at regionals. Peacock finished 273rd with a time of 26:11.9 at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships.
Felician College's Kaitlyn Minehan (Ocean City) finished a season-best 47th in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championships and posted a season-low time of 22:22 in the NYIT Running of the Bears.
