Light heavyweight and Wildwood native Chuck Mussachio bounced back Friday night from his first career loss with a unanimous decision over Bobby Rooney (11-3-1, 6 KOs) as part of a boxing card at the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort.
Mussachio improved his record to 14-1-2 with 5 KOs.
In the undercard bouts:
Super middleweight Eugenio Soto (2-0, 1 KO), an Atlantic City native, knocked out Anthony Dewey in the first round.
Middleweight Joel De La Paz (4-0, 3 KOs), also of Atlantic City, sent Bruce Runkle to the canvas with a first-round knockout.
Pleasantville native super middleweight Gabby Pham (2-0, 2 KOs) won a third-round technical knockout over Rodelle Bolar.
The co-main event, a bout between super middleweight Patrick Perez (25-7, 14 KOs) from Atlantic City and John Mackey, was stopped in the third round and ruled a no-contest as a result of an accidental headbutt that opened a cut over Perez's left-eye.
Mike Tiveri won a unanimous decision after six rounds over John Wright.
Amanda Serrano and Ela Nunez stood toe-to-toe and traded blows, and knockdowns, for four rounds before of the best fights of the night ended in a draw.
The scheduled main event between Prince Badi Ajamu and Daniel Judah was canceled because Ajamu was 10 pounds over the weight limit, said promoter Diane Lee Fischer.
