Pinelands Regional High School running back Mike Michaelson ran 4 yards up the middle for the winning touchdown early in the fourth quarter Saturday and the Wildcats beat visiting Holmdel 19-14 in a Shore Conference football game.
Pinelands fullback Bob Schwartzenberger opened the scoring with a 62-yard run in the fourth period, but Holmdel quarterback Mike Cantelli threw a touchdown pass and ran for another to give his team a 14-7 lead at halftime. Wildcats running back Matt McClain scored a 45-yard TD in the third quarter, but Holmdel kept a 14-13 lead when the extra point kick was missed.
