Stockton beats Montclair in women's soccer

The Richard Stockton College women's soccer team beat Montclair State 3-0 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference matchup on Tuesday.

Leah Pocoroba (Holy Spirit) and Shelley Gibney each scored once and assisted on another. Amanda Altman also scored. Osprey goalie Maria Dorris earned her fourth shutout of the season with one save.

The game was scoreless until Gibney scored in the second half.

The Ospreys' goal ended a 308-minute streak without a score, and the victory ended Montclair's five-game winning streak.

Montclair State 0 0-0

Goalies-Tepperman (5) M; Dorris (1) S.

Records- Montclair 8-4-2; Stockton 10-5-1.

Women's volleyball: Stockton swept William Paterson 3-0 to remain unbeaten in NJAC play.

Game scores were 25-16, 25-17, 25-18.

Stephanie Warner and Anna Streicher had nine kills apiece. Laura Hausman had 22 assists.

The win is the Ospreys' 20th consecutive over an NJAC opponent. Stockton will play in the CCNY Tournament this weekend.

Field hockey: The College of New Jersey defeated Stockton 9-1. Jackie Turner scored off an assist from Danielle Morris for the Ospreys' lone goal. Debi O'Kane made 10 saves.

Stockton's next game is at William Paterson on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
