Ocean City High School senior center forward Colleen Slaughter scored both goals Tuesday as the Red Raiders field hockey team beat visiting Kingsway Regional 2-0 in the South Jersey Group III championship game.
Slaughter, who leads The Press area with 49 goals and has a school-record 90 in her career, scored on a penalty stroke in the first half, and on a shot from the stroke line early in the second half.
O.C. senior goalie Natalie Hunter made eight saves for her 15th shutout of the season and a school-record tying 53rd in her career.
Ocean City will play Central Jersey champion Wall Township at 2 p.m. Thursday at a site to be determined in a Group III state semifinal game.
Top-seeded Wall beat No. 2 Moorestown in penalty strokes Tuesday for the Central Jersey title after the two teams were tied 1-1 through regulation and two overtimes.
Wall gave Ocean City it's only loss last year, beating O.C. 2-1 in a state semifinal before going on to win the state Group III championship.
