Top-seeded Margate opened the Atlantic County Baseball League playoffs with a 10-0 rout of Egg Harbor City. It was the 15th consecutive victory for defending champion Margate (23-2).

Luke Pepper tossed a one-hitter to pick up his 10th victory of the season. Ross Costello smashed a two-run home run and an RBI double while Scott Evangelist added two hits and an RBI for Margate.

The teams will meet again tonight at 7 at Egg Harbor City for Game 2.

Absecon 10, This N That Uniforms (EHT) 3: Second-seeded Absecon cruised to a victory Monday in its series opener against This N That Uniform (EHT). Kevin Cicali went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for Absecon, while Anthony Cocuzza went 2-for-4 and chipped in with a double and two runs scored. Dan Allen went 1-for-2 with an RBI, a walk and a hit by pitch. Kenny Morgenweck went 1-for-1 with three walks and two runs scored. C.J. Wallowitch had two RBIs and E.J. Stoltzfus walked twice and scored twice. It was the 12th straight win for Absecon, which improved to 20-5. Matt Zacharides went 2-for-4 for EHT. Chris Jablonski had two walks and an RBI single.

Ocean City 7, Ventnor 4: Koyla Stephenson went the distance as Ocean City rallied from an early deficit to take a 1-0 lead in the series. Beau Hall's three-run home run helped power Ocean Cityto a five-run third inning and erase a 2-0 hole. Alex Wallace added a two-run home run for some insurance runs later. Juan Mejia had a RBI double for Ventnor and Brett Ewing added two hits and two RBIs. The teams will continue their series tonight at 7 at Ventnor.

Team Univers 4, Hammonton 3: A.J. Scibilia singled home the winning run in the seventh inning as sixth-seeded Team Univers jumped out to a 1-0 series lead. Trevor Rosenberg went the distance for Hammonton with 11 strikeouts.
