The Cedar Creek High School baseball team defeated Buena Regional 6-5 in extra innings Friday in a Cape-Atlantic League matchup.

Cedar Creek built an early lead with five runs in the first three innings. Buena battled back to tie the game in the seventh to force extra innings. It was not until the 11th inning that Cedar Creek was able to put it away.

John Newman got a total of four hits with a double and driving in three for the Pirates. Alex Boney got the win for Cedar Creek, striking out four and also hitting two doubles on the day.
