The Atlantic City High School boys basketball team faded in the second half against one of South Jersey's top teams Saturday afternoon.

Paul VI beat the Vikings 64-56. Atlantic City led by one at halftime. Paul VI is No. 2 in The Press Elite 11, while Atlantic City is No. 8.

Jair Green scored nine of his 13 points in the second half to spark Paul VI. Jay Howard finished with a game-high 21 points for Paul VI.

Atlantic City stayed close behind the outside shooting of sophomore Lamar Thomas, who sank five 3-pointers and scored 18 points. Isiah Graves scored 15 for the Vikings before fouling out. The Vikings' downfall came in the third quarter when they scored just eight points, allowing Paul VI to build a five-point lead.

Millville pulled away in the fourth quarter to beat Middle Township.

Paris Patterson scored six of his 12 points in the fourth for Millville, and Roberto Rivera led the Bolts with 13.

Middle's Trai Greer scored 11 points.

Millville, No. 11 in The Press Elite 11, earned their second win in as many days. On Friday, the Bolts beat St. Augustine Prep 66-57.

Allison Spaschak led visiting Southern with 21 points. The two teams were tied at 13-13 after eight minutes, but the Rams outscored Burlington Township 21-7 in the second quarter. Victoria Caiazzo and Tierney Goetz added 13 points apiece for Southern. For the Falcons, Carin Essex-Arline led with 16 points.
