The Albany Devils of the American Hockey League and Global Spectrum are encouraging fans to bring their dogs to Boardwalk Hall.

The Devils will host the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at 4 p.m. on March 23 in the last of a four-game AHL series inside the Hall. Global Spectrum operates Boardwalk Hall and the Atlantic City Convention Center.

Boardwalk Hall announced Wednesday that fans will be invited to celebrate Pucks and Paws Night at the game. It will enable dog lovers and hockey fans to bring their dogs to the game.

"It was a good opportunity for us to do something creative in this venue as well as appeal to a new demographic and fanbase that may not otherwise come to these games," Boardwalk Hall Director of Marketing Zack Lloyd said on the phone Wednesday.

"In my experience, similar events like this at other venues will get a customer who would not have come. They're a dog lover who is not necessarily a hockey fan but would love to get out of the house and do something fun and entertaining."

Special dog section tickets are available for $16, offering upper level seating that will allow for plenty of space for the owners and their dogs to enjoy the game. There will also be discounted rates when buying tickets for eight or more, Lloyd said.

Lloyd added that there will be no size restrictions on the dogs.

The Devils will also offer dogs attending the game special accommodations, hydration stations, dog relief areas and vendors from local dog organizations.

The dog sections will be located in 207 and 208 and the hydration stations and relief areas will be located behind those sections, Lloyd said.

Vendors will also be located throughout the main concourse.

"We're looking to attract some groomers, dog bakeries, pet hotels and businesses of that nature that may have a vested interest in getting in front of these dog lovers to market their business," Lloyd said.
