The Atlantic City and St. Augustine Prep boys basketball teams enhanced their reputations as well as that of the Cape-Atlantic League on Sunday.

St. Augustine beat Eastern 69-66 and Atlantic City defeated Rancocas Valley 54-46 at the Cherry Hill East Invitational. Both Eastern (18-4) and Rancocas (16-5) are South Group IV contenders.

Sophomores Mike Vasturia and Sa'eed Nelson sparked St. Augustine (18-2). Vasturia scored 18 points, while Nelson contributed 16. The win was career victory No. 799 for Hermits coach Paul Rodio.

"It builds our team up, knowing we can beat teams like (Eastern)," Nelson said.

Vasturia went 4-for-4 from the foul line in the final minute to clinch the victory.

As for Atlantic City, the Vikings won their game with an impressive fourth quarter.

Atlantic City began the final eight minutes with a 17-2 run that turned a four-point deficit into a 49-38 lead with 1 minute, 30 seconds left. Kevin Allen (16 points) began the surge with a 3-pointer.

Eustace pulled away in the second half for a victory in this Cherry Hill East Invitational game.

Eustace led by three at halftime, but outscored Middle Township (9-9) by 10 points in the third quarter.
