The Holy Spirit High School boys basketball team's upset bid against top-seeded Notre Dame in the South Jersey Non-Public A quarterfinals ended with a 50-48 loss in Lawrenceville Thursday.

Paul Moore hit a 3-pointer with under a minute to go to keep eight-seeded Holy Spirit's chances alive, but Notre Dame's 9-0 run that began with 3 minutes, 38 seconds left was too much to handle.

Prior to the run, The Spartans led 43-39.

Jordan Taylor led the scoring with 15 and Moore finished with 12 points. Junior Saintel chipped in 11 points for Holy Spirit, which ends the season 16-11.

Isaiah Johnson posted a game-high 21 points for the Irish, including a pair of free throws with eight seconds left to take the lead for good.
