Cape May Tech's Jake Heminway scored his 1,000th point in a 70-50 loss to St. Joseph in a Cape-Atlantic League boys basketball game Tuesday.

Heminway scored the 24 points he needed to reach the milestone. He also grabbed 12 boards.

"It was unbelievable," Heminway said. "I have to thank my entire team for everything. I'm a center and not the bearer of the ball. I have to rely on every single teammate to get me the ball and get me the points. I want to thank all the players from previous years and all my coaches who have made me the player I am today."

B.J. Mitchell led St. Joseph with 19 points. Laquay Brown added 17 points and seven rebounds.
