Boys basketball roundup: Fourth-quarter free throws lead Mainland to win over Millville

The Mainland Regional High School boys basketball team defeated host Millville 54-48 in a Cape-Atlantic League American Division game Friday.

With a 13-point lead going into the fourth quarter, the Mustangs were 7-for-12 from the free-throw line to hold off a late Millville rally. Kenny Randall posted his second double-double of the season to lead Mainland with a team-high 17 points and 18 rebounds.

For Millville, Khaliq Ford led all scorers with 18 points, including four 3-pointers. The Thunderbolts dropped to 3-3 in the loss.

Oakcrest 75, Ocean City 64

Senior forward Isaiah Price led Oakcrest's charge with a season-high 23 points to go along with seven rebounds. It was a break-out game for Price, who's previous scoring high was six points.

LaDarrel Dixon provided 19 points and six assists for the Falcons, who earned thier third win of the season. Jason Cervi added 14 points.

Ocean City's Griffin Grimes was the game's top scorer with 22, including five 3-pointers. Jeremy Sullivan recorded 15 points for the Red Raiders, while Ryan Laverty and Justin Ruggia each scored 10.

Bridgeton 57, Lower Cape May Regional 35

Nazir Williams and Ty'trel Stubbs paced Bridgeton with 16 and 14 points, respectively.

The Bulldogs outscored Lower Cape May 32-18 in the second half to widen the scoring gap.

Dennis Olson led the Caper Tigers with 10 points.

Trey Jones and Khari Harley each scored 17 points for Egg Harbor Township. Kevin Caban added 10 for the Eagles.

Absegami scored 22 points in the fourth quarter. Vladimir Shustov led the Braves with a game-high 25 points. Jaleel Christmon added 13.

Pleasantville cut the deficit to two in the final seconds, and a Greyhound was fouled at the buzzer but couldn't connect on the first free throw opportunity, ending the game. Neil Peters registered 15 points to lead Pleasantville.

Woodbury's Mario Joyner was the game's top scorer wtih 17.

Gloucester City's Stefano Okoro scored 32 points and had seven boards.
