RHP A.J. Holland (Holy Spirit) allowed four runs, three earned, in six innings for the Lynchburg HillCats (Braves) in a 4-3 loss to Wilmington in the Class-A Advanced Carolina League on Tuesday. Holland allowed six hits, struck out five and walked four. He is 3-2 with a 3.18 ERA in nine starts this season. He has struck out 34 and walked 23 in 51 innings.

Rowan University senior pitcher Steven Melchiorre (Hammonton) was chosen to the New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association Division II/III All-State first team Thursday. Melchiorre went 7-3 with a 2.77 ERA this season. In a team-high 81 innings, he struck out 81.
