Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year and MVP runner-up. Trout, 22, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Saturday: Trout, who played center field and batted third, went 1-for-5 hitting a two-run homer, his 22nd of the season, in a 5-1 win over the Mariners.

Today: Los Angeles finishes its series with Seattle and starter Aaron Harang (5-10, 5.49 ERA) at 4:05 p.m.

Stats: Trout is hitting .328 with 22 home runs, 80 RBIs, 89 runs and 28 stolen bases in 32 chances in 123 games. He has an on-base percentage of .425, his slugging percentage is .571 and his OPS is .996. With his 0-for-4 game on Friday, Trout’s 40-game on-base streak came to an end. It was the second-longest streak in franchise history to Orlando Cabrera’s 63-game streak in 2006. Trout ranks second in the majors with 48 multi-hit games this season.
