Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year and MVP runner-up. Trout, 21, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Tuesday: Trout went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, his 19th of the season, in an 8-3 loss to Texas.

Today: The Angels will host Texas and starting pitcher Alexi Ogando (4-3, 3.26) in a 10:05 p.m. game.

Stats: Trout, who turns 22 today, is hitting .331 with 19 home runs, 68 RBIs and 79 runs in 111 games. He is the sixth player since 1900 with 350 hits and 140 walks before turning 22. He joins Rickey Henderson and Ty Cobb as the only American League player with 75 steals before turning 22.
