The Lacey Township High School football team has clinched a South Jersey Group IV playoff spot.

The top eight teams with the most power points in each group after the games of Nov. 2-3 will qualify for the postseason.

Teams earn power points with each victory. They also receive points based on their opponents’ wins and enrollment.

The playoffs begin Nov. 9-10. The championship games are the first weekend of December. The South Jersey title games will be played at Rowan University.

Here is a look at the Group IV contenders:

Contenders: Lacey Township (7-0); Timber Creek (5-2); Clearview (5-2); Moorestown (4-3); Shawnee (4-3); Hammonton (4-2); Kingsway Regional (4-2); Seneca (3-3); Cherry Hill West (3-3); Toms River South (3-3).

Lacey Township has clinched a spot. Hammonton controls its own fate with games against Absegami (4-2) and Millville (3-3). If the Blue Devils win one of those two contests, they will probably earn enough power points to make the playoffs.
