Mike Trout (Millville) went 2-for-3 with one RBI and one run scored for the Salt Lake Bees (Angels affiliate) in an 8-2 loss to the Tacoma Rainiers in the triple-A Pacific Coast League on Saturday.

Trout, batting leadoff and playing designated hitter, stole his first base of the year and raised his batting average through three games to .538.

Darren Ford (Vineland) did not play for Tacoma (Mariners affiliate) and has yet to make his season debut.

In the Florida State League (Class A Advanced), Matt Szczur (Lower Cape May Regional) went 0-for-4 with a strikeout for the Daytona Cubs in a 1-0 loss to Brevard County.

Szczur, who batted leadoff and played center field, is 1-for-12 (.083) through the first three games of the season.

A.J. Holland (Holy Spirit) is scheduled to make his season debut as the starting pitcher for the Rome Braves when they play at the Charleston RiverDogs today in the single-A South Atlantic League.
