Bridgeton's Braheme Days throws best shot put of year, again

Braheme Days Jr. of Bridgeton High School is again the best in the nation in the shot put.

Days, a senior, won the shot put at a South Jersey Track Coaches Association meet with a put of 69 feet at the Bennett Center in Toms River on Thursday night.

That put is the No. 1 distance in the country this winter, according to milesplit.com, a website that follows national high school track and field. Days also had the No. 1 put in the country last winter with a distance of 70-8.

The following local athletes also won events at Thursday's meet:

Andrea Olsen of Buena Regional (400-meter dash in 1 minute, 0.64 seconds); Lola Agabalogun of Egg Harbor Township (shot put, 37-0.5); LeaQuan James Jr. of Vineland (400 dash, 50.54); Salman Khalid, Absegami (1,600 run, 4:33.39); and Vineland boys (4x400 relay, 3:31.54).
