Buena Regional 21, Vineland 7: Buena jumped out to a good start in its hopes to build off of last season.

The Chiefs handed Vineland head coach Dan Russo a loss in his debut.

George DiBiase’s 3-yard run in the first quarter gave Buena a 6-0 lead. Quarterback Eric Rainear gave his team a 14-0 lead after scoring on a 5-yard keeper and passing to Neil Nelson for the two-point conversion in the second quarter.

Vineland found the end zone in third quarter. Chris Atoki scored on a 3-yard run to cut the lead to 14-7.

Rainear scored his second touchdown of the game, another 5-yard keeper to give the Chiefs the 21-7 lead.
