The Chicago Cubs sent Cape May's Matt Szczur to their triple-A team Friday.
Szczur, an outfielder who had been in major-league camp at spring training in Arizona, will report to the Iowa Cubs' camp. Szczur spent last season with the Cubs' double-A team, the Tennessee Smokies. He hit .281 with a .350 on-base percentage and 22 stolen bases in 2013.
Szczur, 24, a graduate of Lower Cape May Regional High School, starred in football and baseball at Villanova University.
