College football review: Kaiwan Lewis, Stephan Thomas lead outstanding local performances last week

The following is a list of performances from last week by college football players from Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland and southern Ocean counties.

LB Kaiwan Lewis (St. Joseph) led South Carolina in tackles with 12, including one for a loss, in a 41-30 loss to Georgia.

DB Rob Thompson (St. Joseph) had three tackles in Old Dominion's 47-10 loss to Maryland.

DL Christian Brown (Bridgeton) had two tackles in West Virginia's 16-7 loss to Oklahoma.

TE Zach Fabel (Holy Spirit) had a 42-yard touchdown catch in Monmouth's 45-15 loss to Liberty.

DB Stephan Thomas (Egg Harbor Township) had eight tackles, a forced fumble and two interceptions in Sacred Heart's 26-24 win over Lafayette. DB Gordon Hill (St. Joseph) had five tackles.

DE Mark Capetola (Egg Harbor Township) had six tackles, including 11/2 for loss, in Albright's 30-14 win over Kean. S Joe Magosin (Egg Harbor Township) had three tackles.WR Daniel McNair (Holy Spirit) had four catches for 18 yards.

DL Josh Popper (Holy Spirit) had eight tackles, including 21/2 for a loss, in Rowan's 35-27 loss to Delaware Valley. DB Kurt Kingett (St. Augustine Prep) had five tackles. DL Sebastian Ljoka (Holy Spirit) had two tackles. DB Bobby Barberi (Hammonton) had two tackles. RB Russ Forchion (Hammonton) had two carries for 37 yards.

DB Brian Calatozzo (St. Augustine Prep) had 11 tackles in Gettsyburg's 62-40 win over Misericordia. DB Gordon Prince (Mainland Regional) had eight tackles. DE Jason Sartorio (Absegami) had five tackles. DT Anthony De Rosa (St. Joseph) had two tackles.

DB Andre Snead (Atlantic City) had four tackles and an interception in William Paterson's 21-19 win over King's College. LB Ben Allen (Atlantic City) had nine tackles, including 11/2 for a loss.

DB Ryan McSorley (Ocean City) had two tackles in McDainel's 48-16 loss to Catholic.

LB Richard Kugel (Mainland Regional) had three tackles, including one for a loss, and a pass breakup in Moravian's 31-7 loss to Ithaca.

DB Bill Shimko (Southern Regional) had eight tackles and two pass breakups in Montclair State's 15-14 loss to Lebanon Valley. DB C.J. Conway (Hammonton) had seven tackles.

QB Chris Curran (Ocean City) was 13-for-22 for 192 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in Ursinus' 28-20 win over The College of New Jersey. He also had eight rushes for 42 yards. DL Andrew Fiorentino (Ocean City) had five tackles, including two for a loss, a sack and two pass breakups. For TCNJ, DB Sean Clark (St. Joseph) had two tackles and a fumble recovery. DL Mike Barber (Absegami) had four tackles. DL Patrick Kimball (Ocean City) had three tackles, including a sack.

DE Malik Jones (Cumberland Regional) had seven tackles, including two sacks, in Wesley's 33-21 win over Widener. LB Matt Capetola (Egg Harbor Township) had two tackles.
