Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 and 2013 American League MVP runner-up and the 2012 AL Rookie of the Year. Trout, 22, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate.

Sunday: Batting second and playing center field, he went 0-for-3 with an RBI on a sacrifice fly in a 14-3 loss to the Rangers.

Monday: The Angels host the New York Yankees at 10:05 p.m. David Phelps (0-0, 3.86) is scheduled to start for New York. Trout is 1-for-3 with no home runs or RBIs against him.

Stats: Trout is hitting .300 (36-for-117) with six home runs, 21 runs and 19 RBIs. He also has stolen four bases without being caught.
