Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 and 2013 American League MVP runner-up and the 2012 AL Rookie of the Year. Trout, 22, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate.

Friday: Trout went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBIs, a walk, a stolen base, and scored twice in an 11-6 win over Detroit.

Today: The Angels play at Detroit at 1:08 p.m. Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer is the Tigers’ scheduled starter.

Stats: Trout is hitting .338 with five home runs, 14 runs and 13 RBIs. He also has two stolen bases. He's now batting .533 with a 1.467 slug percentage in the first inning this season, according to ESPN.
