Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 and 2013 American League MVP runner-up and the 2012 AL Rookie of the Year. Trout, 22, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Monday: Went 1-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in the Angels’ 9-1 win over the Astros.

Tuesday: The Angels play at Seattle at 10:10 p.m. Left-hander James Paxton (1-0, 0.00) is scheduled to start for the Mariners.

Stats: Trout is hitting .296 (8-for-27) with two home runs, four runs, five RBIs, one triple, one double and five RBIs through seven games. His on-base percentage is .387 and his OPS (OBP plus slugging percentage) is 1.017.
