Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year and MVP runner-up. Trout, 22, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Thursday: Batting third and playing center field, he went 2-for-5 with two RBIs in a 6-5 loss to the Texas Rangers.

Today: The Angels face the Rangers and starter Alexi Ogando (7-4, 2.94) at 8:05 p.m.

Stats: Trout is hitting .324 (189-for-583) with 26 home runs, 94 RBIs, 108 runs, 39 doubles, nine triples and 33 stolen bases on 40 attempts in 154 games. His on-base percentage is .431, his slugging percentage .556 and his OPS .987. He has walked 105 times and struck out 132 times.
