Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year and MVP runner-up. Trout, 22, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Monday: Batting third and playing left field, he went 2-for4 with a walk, two stolen bases and two runs scored in an 11-2 victory over the visiting Tampa Bay Rays.

Today: The Angels host Tampa Bay and starter Matt Moore (14-3, 3.41 ERA) at 10:05 p.m.

Stats: Trout is hitting .335 with 23 home runs, 82 RBIs, 95 runs, 35 doubles, nine triples and 31 stolen bases in 36 chances in 132 games.
