Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 and 2013 American League MVP runner-up and the 2012 AL Rookie of the Year. Trout, 22, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate.

Friday: Batting second and playing center field, Trout went 1-for-5, striking out twice, in a 5-2 loss to the Texas Rangers.

Today: The Angels host the Rangers at 9:05 p.m. Left-hander Matt Harrison (0-0, 3.00) is scheduled to start for Texas. In 13 career at-bats against Harrison, Trout is hitting .231 with no home runs or RBIs.

Sunday:  The Angels host the Texas Rangers at 3:35 p.m. Yu Darvish (1-1, 2.59) is scheduled to start for Texas. In 28 career at-bats against Darvish, Trout is hitting .321 with four home runs and six RBIs.

Stats: Trout is hitting .316 (36-for-114) with six home runs, 21 runs and 18 RBIs. His on-base percentage is .395. He also has stolen four bases without being caught.
