Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year and MVP runner-up. Trout, 21, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Friday: Was 2-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base and two runs scored in a 5-2 win at Kansas City. The victory was the Angels' sixth in a row.

Today: The Angels play at Kansas City at 2:10 p.m. Jeremy Guthrie (4-2, 3.49) is the Royals’ scheduled starter.

Stats: Trout is hitting .306 with 35 RBIs and 37 runs scored in 48 games. He has 13 doubles, five triples, 10 home runs and 11 stolen bases.
