Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year and MVP runner-up. Trout, 21, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Saturday: Went 1-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored and one RBI in a 7-0 win at Kansas City.

Today: The Angels play at Kansas City at 2:10 p.m. Wade Davis (3-3, 5.91) is the Royals’ scheduled starter.

Stats: Trout is hitting .305 with 39 runs scored and 36 RBIs in 49 games. He has 13 doubles, five triples, 10 home runs and 12 stolen bases on 15 attempts. His on-base percentage is .383 and his OPS is .957.

Notes: Trout is hitting .389 (14-for-36) with three home runs, nine RBIs, 11 walks and five stolen bases in his last 10 games. ... The Angels are 18-9 this season when Trout scores and 4-18 when he doesn’t.
