Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year and MVP runner-up. Trout, 21, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Friday: Was 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in a 3-0 loss to the Chicago White Sox.

Today: The Angels host the White Sox at 4:05 p.m. Left-hander Hector Santiago (1-2, 2.23) is Chicago’s scheduled starter.

Stats: Trout is hitting .282 with 29 RBIs and 28 runs scored in 42 games. He has 12 doubles, three triples, eight home runs and eight stolen bases.

Note: Through Thursday, Trout was hitting .340 in 11 day games this season and .265 in 30 night games.
