Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year and MVP runner-up. Trout, 21, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Friday: Playing center field and then left and batting second, he was 1-for-3 with an RBI, a stolen base and two walks in a 4-2 win over the Astros in Houston.

Today: The Angels play at Houston at 4:10 p.m. The Astros’ scheduled starter is Jordan Lyles (4-2, 3.69).

Stats: He is hitting .316 with 13 home runs, 52 RBIs, 57 runs and 20 stolen bases on 23 attempts in 80 games. His on-base percentage was .389, his slugging percentage .548.
