Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year and MVP runner-up. Trout, 21, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Saturday: Went 3-for-5, including two doubles off the Green Monster, with a walk, an RBI and two runs scored in a 9-5 victory over the Boston Red Sox in the first game of a doubleheader at Fenway Park. He also stole a base. He went 1-for-4 with an RBI in the second game, a 7-2 loss.

Today: The Angels face the Red Sox and scheduled starter Ryan Dempster (3-6, 4.39) in a nationally televised 1:35 p.m. game (TBS).

Stats: Trout is hitting .299 with 10 home runs, 40 RBIs, 44 runs scored and 14 stolen bases on 17 attempts in 62 games. He has hit 18 doubles and six triples.
