Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year and MVP runner-up. Trout, 22, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Friday: Batting third as the designated hitter, he went 0-for-2 with two walks in a 5-3 loss to the Texas Rangers.

Today: The Angels face the Rangers and starter Derek Holland (10-9, 3.33) at 12:05 p.m. The teams agreed to change the starting time to an unusually early one in an attempt to get the game in before an expected storm hits in Arlington, Texas.

Stats: Trout is hitting .323 (189-for-585) with 26 home runs, 94 RBIs, 108 runs, 39 doubles, nine triples and 33 stolen bases on 40 attempts in 155 games. His on-base percentage is .431, his slugging percentage .554 and his OPS .985. He has walked 107 times and struck out 134 times.
