Los Angeles Angels' Mike Trout grounds out during the fifth inning against the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday in Anaheim, Calif. 

Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 and 2013 MVP runner-up and the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year. Trout, 22, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Tuesday: Trout, who batted second and played center field, went 0-for-3 with a strikeout and two groundouts in the Angels' 8-3 loss to Seattle. He was also hit by a pitch.

Wednesday: The Angels play Seattle and starter James Paxton (3-0, 1.50 ERA in 2013) at 10:05 p.m.

Stats: In two games this season, Trout is hitting .286 (2-for-7) with one home run, two RBIs, a run scored and a two strikeouts. He has an on-base percentage of .375, a .714 slugging percentage and a 1.089 OPS.
