Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year and MVP runner-up. Trout, 22, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Tuesday: Trout batted third and was the designated hitter. He went 1-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout in a 7-1 loss to the Rays. 

Wednesday: The Angels host Tampa Bay and starter Jeremy Hellickson (10-8, 5.21) at 10 p.m.

Stats: Trout is hitting .335 with 23 home runs, 82 RBIs, 95 runs, 35 doubles, nine triples and 31 stolen bases in 36 chances in 133 games. His on-base percentage is .433, his slugging percentage .575 and his OPS 1.007. On Monday, Trout became the youngest player in major league history to have back-to-back seasons of at least 20 home runs and 30 stolen bases.
