Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 and 2013 MVP runner-up and the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year. Trout, 22, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Wednesday: Trout, who batted second and played center field, went 2-for-3 with an RBI triple, a double, a run scored and a walk in the Angels' 8-2 loss to Seattle. He also lined out.

Thursday: The Angels are off. Their next game is at 8:10 p.m. Friday at Houston, which is scheduled to start Lucas Harrell (6-17, 5.86 ERA in 2013).

Stats: He is batting .400 (4-for-10) through three games. He has one home run, one double, one triple, three RBIs, two runs scored and one walk. His on-base percentage is .500, his slugging percentage is 1.000 and he has an OPS of 1.500.
