Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 and 2013 MVP runner-up and the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year. Trout, 22, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Friday: Hit a solo home run in the first inning of a 5-4, 11-inning win over the New York Mets. Trout finished 2-for-5 with a walk. He drove in one and scored one. He struck out twice.

Today: The Angels are scheduled to face Mets left-hander Jon Niese (0-1, 3.18) at 9:05 p.m.

Stats: Trout is hitting .275 (11-for-40) with three home runs, seven runs and six RBIs.
