Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year and 2012 and 2013 MVP runner-up. Trout, 22, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Monday: Trout went 2-for-4, including a two-run home run in his first at-bat of the season, in the Angels' 10-3 loss to Seattle. He batted second and played center field and had an infield single, a strikeout and a fly out.

Tuesday: The Angels face Seattle at 10:05 p.m. Erasmo Ramirez (5-3, 4.98 ERA in 2013) is scheduled to start for the Mariners. 

Stats: Trout hit .414 (24-for-58) in 20 games during spring training with six home runs, 17 RBIs, two doubles and two triples. He stole three bases and had a .460 on-base percentage, a .828 slugging percentage and a 1.288 OPS.
