Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year and MVP runner-up. Trout, 21, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Monday: Trout went 2-for-3 with a sacrifice fly in a 2-1 loss to Houston.

Today: The Angels host the Cubs at 10:05 p.m. Scott Feldman (5-2, 2.82) is scheduled to start for Chicago.

Stats: Trout is hitting .299 with 10 home runs, 38 RBIs, 42 runs scored and 12 stolen bases in 58 games.

Notes: Trout led all American League outfielders in the first All-Star fan voting update released Monday. With 1,190,676 votes, he was third overall in the AL voting behind Detroit third baseman Miguel Cabrera (1,500,165) and Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano (1,235, 230). This is Trout’s first year on the ballot, since last year he started the season in the minors.
