Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 and 2013 American League MVP runner-up and the 2012 AL Rookie of the Year. Trout, 22, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate. He was The Press Player of the Year in 2008 and 2009 and the Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Sunday: Trout, in the lineup as the designated hitter, went 1-for-5 with an RBI and four strikeouts in the Angels’ 9-3 win over the Blue Jays.

Monday: The Angels play Toronto and starter Mark Buehrle (6-1, 1.91 ERA) at 7:07 p.m.

Stats: Trout is hitting .273 (39-for-143) with seven home runs, 25 runs and 22 RBIs in 36 games. He also has stolen four bases without being caught. His on-base percentage is .358 and his OPS .882.
