Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year and MVP runner-up. Trout, 22, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Wednesday: Trout went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and two strikeouts in the Angels' 3-1 loss to the Rays. 

Thursday: The Angels host Tampa Bay and starter David Price (8-6, 3.30) at 10 p.m.

Stats: Trout is hitting .335 with 23 home runs, 82 RBIs, 95 runs, 36 doubles, nine triples and 31 stolen bases in 36 chances in 134 games. His on-base percentage was .433, his slugging percentage .575 and his OPS 1.008.
