Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year and MVP runner-up. Trout, 21, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Late Thursday: Went 1-for-4 with a strikeout and was caught stealing in a 6-0 loss at Seattle.

Friday: Was 1-for-3 with two walks and a stolen base in a 6-3 victory at Seattle. Playing left field, he also made his second error of the season.

Today: The Angels play at Seattle at 9:10 p.m. Felix Hernandez (2-2, 2.08) will start for the Mariners. Trout went just 1-for-7 (.143) against Hernandez during his initial stint in the major leagues in 2011. However, Trout wore out the former Cy Young Award winner in 2012, hitting .529 (9-for-17) with one double, one triple, one home run, four runs scored and eight RBIs.

Stats: Trout is hitting .272 with 13 runs scored, two home runs, 11 RBIs and four stolen bases in 22 games.
