Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year and MVP runner-up. Trout, 21, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Monday: Went 1-for-2 with three walks and a run scored in a 5-2 loss to the Texas Rangers. He also stole a base.

Today: The Angels will host Texas and starting pitcher Yu Darvish (10-5, 2.66) in a 10:05 p.m. game.

Stats: Trout is hitting .329 with 18 home runs, 67 RBIs and 78 runs in 110 games. He has 24 stolen bases on 28 attempts, and has walked 67 times. He has hit 32 doubles and eight triples. His on-base percentage is .423, his slugging percentage .568 and his OPS .991.
