Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year and MVP runner-up. Trout, 21, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Saturday: He extended his streak of consecutive games having reached base to 39.

Playing left field and batting third, he went 1-for-3 with two walks, two runs scored and a stolen base in a 10-inning, 6-5 win over the Houston Astros.

Today: Los Angeles hosts Houston and rookie left-hander Brett Oberholtzer (2-1, 2.57 ERA) at 3:35 p.m.

Stats: Trout is hitting .330 (154-for-466) with 21 home runs, 78 RBIs and 87 runs in 121 games. He has hit 33 doubles and eight triples. He has walked 75 times and struck out 95 times.
