Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year and MVP runner-up. Trout, 21, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Friday: Tripled, homered, drove in three runs and scored one in a 4-0 win over the visiting Orioles. His homer was a two-run shot in the fifth inning that made it 3-0.

Today: L.A. hosts Baltimore at 5:05 p.m. Freddy Garcia is the Orioles’ scheduled starter. He will make his season debut after going 4-0 with a 2.67 ERA in five starts in the triple-A International League.

Stats: Trout is hitting .270 with four home runs and 20 RBIs in 29 games. He has four triples, nine doubles and four stolen bases.
