Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year and MVP runner-up. Trout, 22, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Friday: Batting third and playing center field, Trout went 0-for-2 with three walks, one run and one RBI in a 9-7 loss to the Astros in Houston.

Saturday: Was 0-for-3 with two walks and a run scored in a 6-2 win over the Astros. He batted third and played center field.

Sunday: The Angels face Houston and starting pitcher Paul Clemens (4-4, 5.91) at 2:10 p.m.

Stats: Trout is hitting .332 (181-for-545) with 23 home runs, 86 RBIs, a league-leading 103 runs, 38 doubles, nine triples and 32 stolen bases on 39 attempts in 144 games. He also leads the AL with 99 walks. His on-base percentage is .438, his slugging percentage .561 and his OPS .999.
